Sojourner Truth was born a slave in Ulster County, New York, and gained her freedom on July 4, 1827. Truth spent the rest of her life working tirelessly to end slavery and to help freed blacks who were suffering. In 1851, Sojourner Truth gave her famous Ain't I a Woman? speech at a Women's Rights Convention in Ohio. Her speech is completely reproduced here, also featuring Truth's portrait. 11" x 14".
